Interrogation Room

This is the interrogation room:

*We leave the scene and arrive at the precinct and walk our perp to the interrogation room before processing and booking. We reach the room and uncuff the perp and handcuff him to the table. I walk outside the room and wait for Hailey before we interrogate the perp.*

*I download the files onto my phone as I mark where the subject was identified by both witnesses on a legal pad as I walk over to Farrell.*
'You ready for this? I'm guessing you want to run the recorder?'

'Yeah let's do this'

*I grab the recorder from my desk and I walk to the interrogation room and turn it on and hit record as I read the suspect his rights.*

'I am Detective Farrell with Major Crimes and this is Detective Davis. Can you tell us where you were between the hours of 11pm to 11:30pm last night'

'I don't remember'

*I step backward and pace around the from as Farrell begins the interrogation.*
'You can't remember where you were. Ok, that's fine. Let me jog your memory.'
*I I pull out the files and the stills from the security camera.*
'As documented by this security camera, at 2302 hours, or 11:02 PM, you pulled into the parking lot of a gas station located at riverside and fourth avenue. You walked inside, as documented by this camera and shot the clerk once as he was reaching for a shotgun beneath the counter. When you walked outside the store carrying some of your loot, you encountered another motorist who was getting gas and shot him as well. You then proceeded to your bike and fled the scene, at 2306, or 11:06 PM, four minutes after your arrival. You made these tire tracks in the street about a mile down the street. According to two witnesses, you were positively identified, and the events that they accounted were proved by the cameras. Later, once a search warrant was issued, we proceeded to check your apartment, where we found the murder weapon along with some drugs in your apartment. The crime scene unit also located your bike. Now, shoot straight with us and have a chance of helping yourself, or face life in prison if any of your victims die. Detective.'
*I drop the pictures and evidence on the table in front of the suspect as I inform him what happened before stepping back leaving them on the table and let Farrell continue.*

'Thank you, Detective. I think he know's now he is facing life in prison or at least the next 30 years or so. We have you for armed robbery, and 2 counts of aggravated assault, which is the shooting. We have your bike which is the same bike identified by a witness and the same as seen on the video camera in which we were able to get a license plate number from which led us to you. You were then positively identified by 2 witnesses and the clerk who picked your photo out of a photo line up. We are in the process of ensuring the gun we found is the same gun used in the crime, but as a convicted felon you are not allowed to possess a gun so there is another charge. You were also trespassed from that address which means going back there is trespassing and another charge. That is 5 felony charges. Now you can confess and maybe get lenience from the DA's office and probably get less time or you can try and go for a trial and potentially face life behind bars. Your choice.'

*I wait a moment and took out a notepad and a pen and hand it to him to see what his choice is.*

'Start writing or request a lawyer.'

'I think I want a lawyer.'

'Do you think or are you requesting a lawyer?'

'Requesting.'

'Good choice.'

*I turn the recorder off and take my pen and notepad back and walk out of the room and ask the officer to transport him to a holding cell and call him a court appointed attorney. I then start walking to my desk*

'Pretty easy first case.'

*I walk out with Farrell.*
'All right, what's next? I'm guessing we're pretty much done with this guy once he signs with his lawyer. I'd say we head out to 2's case and see if we can help them.'

'They should be fine, I am sure central will give us a case soon.'
